Corporate Culture Job Interview Fit Assessments

An effective method for culture fit assessment is cultural questionnaires. Some employers design the questionnaires to gather information about characteristics you would find appealing in an ideal company. Once you've completed them your profiles are matched to the employers' profiles to identify areas of alignment and potential mismatch.

Other companies are demonstrating several realistic job previews -- which demonstrate how the company do business with its employees -- to you. You're asked, from an observer point of view, to select one preview that fits your preference. The recruiters finally make assess your fit based on your job previews' choices.

Another practice is to link corporate culture fit components directly to a competency model. In competency models you'll find group of competencies that construct a corporate culture -- for example: innovation, customer service orientation and teamwork. With several core competencies hiring managers develop culture fit interview questions that can be used to conduct culture fit assessments.

What To Ask at a Corporate Culture Job Interview

When it comes to your chance to ask questions you need to probe the company's suitability with your personality and work environment preference. Remember, a job interview is a mutual activity to get to know each other between you and your prospective employer. So use your chance wisely.

  • What does it take for someone to be successful here?
  • What kind of sponsorships or philanthropic activities does the company participate in?
  • Does the company have a stated set of cultural values?
  • Why have you stayed with the company? (A question for your interviewer as an individual or an employee)

You may add your own questions here. But the idea is like this. Is this the company I want to spend my life with for the next 5 years?

Check out employment second interview questions since corporate culture job interview questions are mostly conducted at second job interviews. Also remember to send interview thank you letter once you're successful with your interview.
